How it looks on products
These are mockups: the product photos are rendered with AI, and the lettering placed on them is the unedited design file shown in the corner — exactly what you download. They show how a design reads at real size, not a finished item we made.

What is a cake topper SVG generator?
The ArtFont Cake Topper SVG Generator is an AI tool that turns your words — a name, an age, "Happy Birthday" or "Mr & Mrs" — into a one-piece cake topper design, downloaded as a cut-ready SVG and a transparent PNG.
A cake topper SVG is a cut file for the lettering that stands on a cake. This generator draws the topper around your exact words in connected styles, so the whole topper holds together as a single piece when it is cut from cardstock, acrylic or wood.
What problem does it solve?
A topper has to survive being cut and stuck in a cake: every word joined, a baseline strong enough to carry it, nothing floating. Typing the words in a script font leaves gaps, and ordering a custom topper file means waiting for a seller to email it. The generator draws the words already connected and gives you the SVG straight away.
Who is it for?
- Parents and party planners — birthday toppers with a name and age
- Couples and wedding planners — Mr & Mrs and couple-name toppers, plus welcome-sign lettering
- Bakers — a topper file for each order without redrawing it
- Etsy topper sellers — custom topper files for personalised orders
When not to use it
- Toppers with photos, characters or licensed figures — it draws lettering only.
- Very long text. Past about 25 characters the letters get too thin to hold up in cardstock; split it into two toppers.

Cake Topper SVG Generator vs the alternatives
Custom topper files on Etsy
Good at: a designer checking your file by hand, usually for a few dollars.
The difference: you place an order and wait for the file by email; here you download it immediately.
Free topper generators (e.g. mylasertools)
Good at: free, instant toppers from a set of fonts, with SVG export.
The difference: the lettering is a font; ArtFont draws the topper lettering for your words.
Design Space with a script font
Good at: full control if you already know welding and slicing.
The difference: you connect the letters and add the baseline yourself.
If you enjoy building the topper yourself, a script font in Design Space works. If you need a connected, cut-ready topper for tonight's cake, generate it here.

Frequently asked questions
What material should I cut a cake topper from?
Glitter cardstock cuts on any Cricut or Silhouette and is fine for one event. For a keepsake, laser-cut 3 mm acrylic or birch plywood. Make the topper at least 15 cm / 6 in wide so the thin strokes of script letters stay strong.
Do I need to weld the letters in Cricut Design Space?
No. The SVG is traced as one connected shape, so it imports as a single cut layer. Only separate marks — dots on i and j, or an ampersand in some styles — come in as extra pieces.
What do I get in the SVG download?
A traced vector of the lettering in one flat colour, made of closed paths. It imports into Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio, LightBurn and Illustrator and scales to any size without blurring. It does not keep gradients, glows or pattern fills — styles marked "PNG" in the picker are print designs, so use their PNG instead.
Can I sell products made with these designs?
Yes. Designs you generate are yours to use commercially — on shirts, mugs, signs, decals, cake toppers and client work — with no watermark and no attribution required. The one thing to check yourself is the words: a design does not give you rights to someone else's trademark or team name.
How much does it cost?
A standard design (2K, standard quality) costs 13 credits, and new accounts get 30 free credits — enough for your first 2 designs. Quick 1K drafts cost 4 credits; 4K at best quality costs 40. PNG and SVG downloads of your own designs are included. Credit packs start at $9.99 for 900 credits, about 69 standard designs.
